A short and intense trip
Last Friday, I went on this short trip for two days to Bacunayagua Abajo (Mayabeque and Matanzas provinces) in Cuba.
I did a lot of hiking and walking, especially on Saturday but I wasn’t able to post due to poor connectivity. Yesterday, I did some too and I’m gonna used the walked miles to tell you a little bit of this beautiful place.
Bacunayagua is a village on Cuba’s Vía Blanca. Its iconic bridge, with 110 meters, making it the tallest bridge in Cuba. Perfect en route between Havana and Varadero.
Well, a few meters under the bridge, heading towards the ocean; there’s a small community called Bacunayagua Abajo where people are nice, nature is amazing, breeze and colors hit you with love. Hikes, trails, beach, river, mountains and a traveler attitude to enjoy.
There are trails to hike in all directions. Hidden places, flowers, animals, mountains. A feast for sport, hikes and photography lovers.
Trail to under the bridge
This trail goes bordering the river. You can find of nice spots and plenty flora and fauna.
Loving nature is to love life
BORDERING THE COAST AND ROCKY MOUNTAINS TRAIL
This trail has less vegetation than the one next to the river. Views are incredible from the top of the mountain. I even found wild orchids there.
EL MIRADOR (viewpoint) TRAIL
Vegetation here is abundant. It’s a shorter trail but higher. The main attraction is the bay with the sunset. Incredible views.
As you can see there’s a lot to do to exercise the body in this paradise.
I want to return to keep exploring.
See you soon Bacunayagua Abajo.
Thank you for the nice workout.
