Yesterday I was busy for most of the day but I decided I needed to get a little exercise before it got too dark. The mountain here is still "open", on weekends, with literally a ribbon of snow. The rest of the trails either look like this, or are completely bare. This leftover snow here is manmade.
It's weird that I get sentimental thinking about manmade snow. I really miss working as a snowmaker. But I know I'll be doing that again this winter; so I'm not too bummed.
I wanted to go skateboarding but it rained periodically throughout the day so the ground was wet. And now it's gonna rain all week; so I guess I kinda blew it on skating this week. It also means hiking will become less of an appealing option as I hate dealing with muddy Raiden. He's not much of a fun of baths and his go-to move when he has ANY sort of moisture on him is rubbing himself all over the couch. Like any. At all.
We didn't go as far as I had hoped due to me not being used to the later sunsets happening these days. I got to the bottom and realized there was still plenty of light; so we went up another workroad for a little bit.
I have been avoiding hiking on the hill a little bit as I don't want to run into my recently ex-coworkers. It's not that I don't want to see them; I just don't think they know I am stuck here due to border closure as I left under the impression I was leaving the country. I just don't want to have that conversation. It's not exactly fun for me to talk about.
Plus, I know they will try to convince me to come back to work. Which I would; but that's a trap. I left this job because I hated it; or the winters at least. I'm not gonna get roped back into them thinking I'm back on board year round. I believe they still think I'm on "temporary leave"; even though I told them clearly I quit. They aren't letting me go easily hahahaha
Stay gold y'all <3
