things sometimes look different in the dark. of course when it is dark you could hardly see a thing. yes that is true. but the mood changes in the dark. just look at this picture below for example.
the picture now draws a different emotion against all the dark background. it now looks cute and fun whereas it would be something lame with all that colors in broad daylight. who would turn on a lantern in broad daylight in the first place. this is actually a lantern used by some road construction work as their light source. to be honest, this is also my first time seeing one with that human like figure at the top. that white round thing would basically suffice in most cases.
and this road which was so so empty looks a bit creepy in the dark. all the thriller jump scare scenes kept popping at my head while walking up this path. this would probably just look so ordinary in daylight.
so here this big building looks abandoned and haunted in the dark. i'm just glad my phone captured some blue sky even at this hour. building is some sort of a government office if i'm not mistaken. big old buildings like this feels different in the dark.
after all of the quite creepy places i passed by, i could not imagine myself mustering the courage to pass by them again. so then i decided to just walk until the station and ride the train back home.
oh there is a philippine event! i didn't even know about this. thinking about the food they will sell makes my mouth water. i miss proper filipino food.
so here i am finally reached the station front. back in the brightly lit city.
if you haven't guessed it yet, yes i was doing the night time walks again. just saying it out there just to be clear. i was supposed to buy band-aids for my foot blister which i did. but the store was just so far away that i decided to just go on with the journey.
before all this shenanigans, i went to the gym for cardio. did the usual pre cardio workout as follows before tackling the main exercise of the night.
- seated abdominal crunch machine (59kg x 3 x 12)
- rotary torso machine (75kg x 3 x 12 per side)
the tv was a great tool to enjoy something while doing this rather boring exercise. just saying the truth, walking for an hour could really be boring. so here i was watching a program on the popularity rise of men's volleyball in japan. they detailed that there was a time in the 70's when men's volleyball player could not even walk out of the stadium for they were blocked by a huge crowd of fans. and when they do finally hopped on to their buses, these fans would follow on their bikes. that is insane! i wonder if that still happens to this day. with the rise of the internet, anyone could have a fix of their favorites at home, so i guess there is really no need for this incessant behavior.
oh and for those who really do not follow the sport, this man above is the current captain of the national volleyball team. ishikawa is the name and he is quite popular which increases with those crazy plays he does. and since this is japan we are talking about, real volleyball plays were of course compared side by side to the popular manga turned anime series, haikyu. these players were indeed awesome!
as always, stay safe.
