At last - after a week of limping around, I felt able to walk and do some fall yard cleanup today.
My girls were home for the day, as we celebrated my birthday a couple of days early, and we went out for a walk. It was lovely but cold, just a bit above freezing.
I was able to do a pretty significant walk, but not as long as usual. I need to make sure my hip is really better before stressing it too much.
As you can see, all of our fall color is gone! It will be brown until next May. But we will have snow soon, and that makes all the difference.
For now we can find the beauty in the bleak and stark tones of late fall.
Back home I got more steps by gathering leaves. We have several giant oak trees in our backyard and it takes all fall for their leaves to come down!
