My steps today were from jogging around the house, so I’ve pulled together some pictures from walks this past week and filtered them to make some black and white images to share.
Those are from parks and nature areas. The rest are from my trip to the city of Duluth, MN on Lake Superior a few days ago.
I love the intense beauty of black and white photos, and how they take on a completely different character from their color counterparts. Wouldn’t we all love to have the option to change our appearance so profoundly?
Okay one more. But you have to guess what’s different about it. This is a shot of the moon rising over Lake Superior, which I think I may have shared in a post a few days ago.
Any guesses?
Okay I bet you figured it out.
If you guessed that it’s actually an unaltered color photo, you are correct. It is monochrome by nature — a white moon on a gray sky above a night-gray lake. No filtering necessary!
