The USS Midway is a maritime museum on a full-sized aircraft carrier. The boat is absolutely massive — capable of housing 5,000 service people. Today we walked all over the boat, reading plaques and listening to audio recordings that describe the boat’s history.
It is an astounding place to visit, if you have any interest in war history.
I couldn’t believe how many planes and helicopters are in and on this vessel.
And each of them has its own story to tell. You can tap an audio device that that you carry on a lanyard to another device at any of the stations and can hear a narrated history by someone who flew that plane or helicopter in one of the wars. Fascinating!
