My sister and I both have busy lives, but have discovered that we both have similar errands on Saturdays, so why not do our errands together?
I have to say, this made it a great day. It started out with a run to the Goodwill drop-off center, followed by a fun trip to a consignment store that carries home goods. Since we are each perennially reorganizing our lives and trying to make our homes better, it was a delight for us both.
Hilariously, our next stop was a car wash. Vehicles get extremely filthy during Minnesota winters due to road grit and dirty snow. You cannot go to a car wash during the coldest winter days like we have had recently (zero degrees Fahrenheit and colder) because your car doors will freeze shut. And you don’t want that, especially if you’re stuck inside the car. 😂
So everyone makes a run for it when the days get a little nicer. I don’t mean warm weather by any normal standards. I’m talking about a temperature of no more than about 8 degrees below freezing. The heat of the car will prevent the doors from freezing shut at that temperature. Any colder and you just cannot clean your car.
Okay, we may not have gotten many steps by sitting in a car that was auto-propelled through an automatic car wash, but I had to include that in our list of errands for the day.
After that, it was lunchtime!
We ate at lovely chain restaurant called Crisp and Green. And the food lives up to the name. It was delicious!
Fortified by food, we made a run to Costco, the “big box” store that offers items at lower prices than typical grocery stores. Saturdays are chaotic there! I am sure we got some extra steps by skirting around all the other shoppers.
And finally after all that we went to the dog park with our dogs. We were bundled up for the cold, but the dogs just ran and played and didn’t mind the cold at all.
That is all for today. Thank you for visiting!
