Some days are just so full of activity that it makes your head spin. Like a day when you devote half of the day to attending a funeral, and another half a day doing various physical activities to recover emotionally from the experience.
That was my day in a nutshell. Thank goodness my pickleball club had open play scheduled right after the service and lunch. The life celebrated was a life cut short tragically by an aggressive cancer. A family member with young children. Sigh.
This is an Actifit post so I will just say that playing pickleball for two and a half hours after that was highly therapeutic.
And then I walked. I’d had my husband drop me and my pickleball gear off at the club after the service. And instead of calling him to have him come retrieve me after I was done playing, I walked the two miles home.
It was a time of reflection. It was a breezy early spring day. The birds were singing. My heart hurt so. I needed more time to just move and breathe. I kept looking around for a sign that everything will be okay, or something to help me make sense of my cloudy thoughts on that sunny day.
I came across this little book library on the roadside along my way, created with such care and love, and now damaged by time and weather. It spoke to me somehow, with its little curtained windows. It’s certainly worse for the wear, but still functioning, still carrying on.
I guess a person can find a source of inspiration and hope almost anywhere if they are looking for it.
