I watched a biopic on TV recently about Little Richard an early Rock Superstar. Richard Penniman was born in Georgia in 1932. He started performing in the late 40s and early 50s sometimes as Little Richard and sometimes in drag as Princess LaVonne. It's Pride Month and that may be one reason the show I saw was aired now.
In 1955 Little Richard released ground breaking up tempo Rock and Roll songs. The first was Tutti Frutti. Apparently originally about gay sex, the lyrics Tutti Frutti good booty were sanitized to Tutti Frutti aw rooty.
Next Richard released Long Tall sally which was even faster and more frantic. He had several other hits in the 50s and went in and out of popularity for many decades. This is from the 1956/57 movie Don't Knock The Rock originally in Black and White but colorized here.
MY ACTIVITY was a nice long walk. It again got me in the #10kstepsaday club!
I wish you a wonderful Wednesday!
