A few days ago I found this video from Moonic Productions. It is an imagining of what it would sound like if Black Sabbath had wrote and recorded Dolly Parton's hit song Jolene. I like Jolene and I like British Metal band Black Sabbath with Ozzy Osbourne on vocals so I had to give this a listen.
Jolene is a pop country song and I like the melody and lyrics of the original Dolly Parton version. I also like many of the covers I have heard over the years, including several I featured here on this blog.
Black Sabbath is one of the early Metal bands and they invented a subset called Doom Metal. They use loud guitar parts tuned down a bit with songs often in minor keys. Ozzy was the original singer and he's still rocking to this day which is quite a long time since Sabbath started in about 1970.
This version of Jolene does sound like early Black Sabbath. It has the typical slower loud guitar parts and then a rave up faster segment. The vocalist did a nice job of imitating Ozzy. Check it out and see what you think!
My Activity
today was some pushups and some dumbbell lifting. Then I also took my nightly walk. It was warm out and a bit humid. I did a medium length route. Still no sight of the moon.
Happy Friday! Have a nice day! :)
