Now that Christmas is passed we look to New Year's Eve and 2025.
Should old acquaintances be forgot? I think not.
We have built quite a community on Hive with many sub-communities. We have made friends. We have supported each other. Those are good things. Whatever the new year brings will be built on the base we already made over the last nearly 9 years.
We have many good things to be thankful for. Can we tweek them to make them even better? Can we keep building and working towards our goals? Of course. But let's look back at this time of year and think of where we have traveled together and the good times we have had with our fellow humans.
I think Emily Linge is the perfect person to be singing this New Years Eve song. This holiday is about celebrating the bridge from the current year to the one coming fast in the near future. Emily is a young person who is aware of what came before her. Many of the song she covers are from many decades before she was born. To know where you're going, it is good to know where you've been. And Emily knows where the musical world has been. She takes the past and brings it into the future in her own special way.
We can do the same. Community is not a new thing. People have always lived in communities. By now we know that cooperation and sometimes altruism where we put others ahead of ourselves are winning ways to a strong wonderful community. Let's learn from the past, tweek a bit and build a bit. 2025 is a blank slate. We can make it into whatever we want. Let's aim high. Let's work together for the good of the communities we find ourselves in.
After all, we're all in this together if you step into space and look back. That pale blue dot in the sky, if you're on another planet, is the Earth and we all call it home. Literally we're all interconnected neighbors, especially these days where many things happening have global consequences.
Love Thy Neighbor. We're All Neighbors.
