Today I heard that James Lowe has passed at the age of 82. Jim was the singer for the iconic 60s psychedelic band The Electric Prunes. They had a few hits in the mid 60s then appeared on the Easy Rider movie soundtrack.
Let's remember their biggest hit called I Had Too Much To Dream. Here is a video of the Prunes on American Bandstand with Dick Clark. You can see how popular the song is - the video has about 2 Million Views!
There is Jim right on the thumbnail.
I Had Too Much To Dream last night
Too Much To Dream
I'm not ready to face the light
I Had Too Much To Dream, last night!
Here is a groovy track I can dig from the Prunes first album. The song is Train for Tomorrow. It starts out sounding like a slow comfortable train ride to the future, then half way through switches to a jazz solo. Strange but cool.
Will our children have a chance to pray
When tomorrow becomes today
There's no use running, 'cause you can't hide
the tracks too long and there's coal inside
Inside the Train For Tomorrow!
This track is from Easy Rider. It is the ancient Christian hymn Kyrie Eleison. That is Latin for Lord Have Mercy. If there is an afterlife, we all pray for Mercy for our sins. No one knows what happens after we die, but Jim may have just found out. RIP.
My Activity
for this Friday was the usual daily activity to handle chores and family obligations and exercise snack breaks to get the heart pumping.
At night I was able to get out for the daily nightly walk. I immediately saw a sliver of the crescent moon low in the sky. My path was medium length and I scored 8K today.
I hope your upcoming weekend is a good one.
Have a Nice Day, Everyone!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
