Two videos today. First is a YouTube music video from a 60s garage band called The Cherry Slush. Second YouTube video talks about the tragic flood iin Texas. You can figure out which one is light and which is heavy.
She'll Be Back
This is a cool Garage Rock tune from a garage band in Michigan made in the mid 60s. It must have been after fuzz boxes were invented because this one surely has the guitar run through a fuzz box. It is about a guy's girl who wants to leave but he knows that she will be back, because she has done this before.
No She Won't
Well if you haven't figured it out, that music video above was the Light.
This is the Heavy. If you don't want Heavy, stop reading and go on to someone else's post.
There was a very bad flood in Texas in recent days. The local river rose tens of feet in a matter of minutes. There was a young girl's Christian Camp on the banks of that river. Many young girls died in that flood.
Those are the facts as reported by all media outlets that I have seen. Now the assumption is that many many many people were praying for those girls. Their families and the girls themselves were probably praying to the Christian God for their safety. That's what Christians tend to do, they pray for a positive outcome. But they did not get it.
Prayer works!
Maybe it does some times. I can go along with that.
Not Always!
This sentence is also true.
There is a Humanist YouTube channel I watch to hear another side of things since I also watch my own church's YouTube videos and other Christian vids. Life has many mysteries. If you think everything is easily explained by data or by dogma, you may sleep better but you may not understand that there is value from both science and religion, even though they can contradict each other.
So this video is, in the end, a vehicle to showcase a charity that helps in tragedies like this. It is said that more than 90% of the money received goes to where it is needed rather than to overhead. This is a good number in the charity business. So I gave them a donation. Will you help? Will you pray? Will you do both? I did both.
My Activity
on this hot hot day was mostly indoor stuff. I lifted my dumbbells in several sets working my legs, core, and arms. I did 30 inclined pushups for the chest and back and core.
At night I went out for my daily nightly walk even though it was 80 degrees still. I wasn't interested in going for a long walk even though there was a beautiful full moon out there. So I just got 5K for my number today.
Have a Nice Day! Love One Another! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
