Today I'll share some random thoughts. I saw some pics and videos on Facebook about Charlotte NC where I now live close to. They showed the center of the city and the local amusement park and a local mall as they looked decades ago. The city center and fun park are still there but the mall is dead and gone.
I liked that mall. In the center it had 3 floors and the lowest one was an ice skating rink. I had fun there!
But time goes on, things change. NC is not like we see it on The Andy Griffith Show anymore. It was like that in the 60s though. Mayberry was based on the actual Mount Airy NC. But the real Mount Airy wasn't all conservative laid back country folk. There were some youngins who formed a band there called The Nomads. They actually put out a few records that people have collected over the years and enjoyed.
Thoughts Of A Madman
One that I like is called Thoughts of a Madman! It is Garage Punk Psychedelic and generally weird. The song starts with the guitar riff but only part of it. After 5 or 6 notes they let the last one sustain and fuzz and vibrate out of control. Then the song starts with some ferociousness that seems out of place for Mayberry / Mount Airy NC. There are some goth/dark lyrics about mental illness and thoughts of offing oneself. There are screams and incoherent ranting and general madness all the way to the final fade out.
Suicide has just crossed my mind
Up all morning with thoughts in my wine
Nothin in this whole world seems so fine
As to die and find peace of mind.
Thoughts of a madman seem to say
That I'll have to die one day.
It's driving me crazy
I'm going outta my mind, yowwwwww!
I'll send this one out to my friend John. He went to the hospital a month ago and was diagnosed with brain cancer. He never left the hospital, except for the final trip to the grave.
RIP dear friend!
Video Game Ethics
Is it wrong to kill an NPC in a video game?
I watched an Alex O'Connor video in which he talked near the end about morality in gaming. Specifically some of the things that happen in games like Grand Theft Auto. He referenced a paper that discusses this general idea.
So is it cool that we attack and kill characters in video games? Should we be able to act out (and enjoy?) doing horrible things we would not do IRL? Is it cool to whack someone in the head with a baseball bat, or murder them with firearms, or SA a helpless female?
What about #PEPE Game ? Is it cool that we pit frog v frog with some living and some dying as they fight to the death of the entire squad? Even though they are just AI generated cartoon pictures?
Mad Thoughts! I warned you in the Post Title!
My Activity
today was working on said video game. GEMs coming for use in battle and you can also buy and sell them. Nothing morally questionable about buying and selling online. Right?
I also did high knees, and dumbbell sets, and 30 pushups. Regular pushups, not the easier inclined ones!
At night I took a walk for about 25 minutes. It was 61 degrees Fahrenheit! The rain of the day finally stopped so I was able to walk without soaking the hoodie I equipped to my non-virtual character.
Look at my number! Can I get some respect for 12K? Yes? Thanks!
Have a Nice Day Everyone!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
