Two days ago I wrote about some old comedy short movies I found on YouTube. Today I was wondering what music was popular 100 years ago in the Summer of '25 so I did a search and found out!
Most of what I found were unknown to me, but I knew a few of them.
Sweet Georgia Brown - Ben Bernie, Ethel Waters
See See Rider Blues - Ma Rainey
Yes Sir! That's My Baby - Gene Austin, Blossom Seeley
Charleston - Paul Whiteman, Golden Gate Orchestra
Do you know any of these songs?
I knew the second one from what must be a cover version.
But first, here is the original See See Rider Blues, by "Ma" Rainey. It is kind of slow and probably transferred from an old 78 RPM record so the quality isn't great. But I can respect the talent of Ma Rainey!
Now for the version I know. It is an oldie from 1966 so 40 years after the even older oldie that the original was. This is CC Rider / Jenny Take a Ride by Mitch Ryder and The Detroit Wheels. The clip is from one of those Teen Dance TV shows, looks like Hollywood a Go Go to me.
Do you know this version of the song?
My Activity

At night I decided to walk around a local supermarket rather than outdoors, so that's what I did. I got some healthy food too. My walking didn't yield much of an actifit count, just over 5.6K, but that's oK!
Have a Great Day, My Friends!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
