Spent much of my time outdoors working in the garden, digging, and shoveling dirt and mud. It was a decent workout, no foolin'!
Employed a number of shovels which worked different muscles. The little hand spades gave my hands and wrists a workout. But also my poor back and knees because I used them mostly while kneeling on the ground.
Digging with the big shovels was a full body workout. I even made a game out of switching which foot I used to push into the ground just as I would switch sides doing lunges.
Part of the time I was digging out a section of my little pond. Working with thick, sticky mud is a serious workout — even just cleaning the shovel takes major effort.
Did some walking, although not as much as the past week. Throw in a little laundry, sorting some boxes, tending chickens, researching chicken brooder setups and it was an overall productive, if not highly active, day. A nice change of pace from the almost constant back and forth hauling stuff around that I had been doing.
