My day could best be described as slow but steady. At least it was until around 7:00 pm.
Began the day playing with grandkids. Later, I tried to settle down for some reading but kept being distracted by little things in the house that would catch my eye.
Rearranged cannisters. Moved things around. Neatly stored extra clothes under the bed. Did a few micro-workouts throughout the day but nothing like yesterday.
Then I decided to move a couple of glass shelves and hang a pair of wooden heart shelves in their place. Had everything just so and was going to call it a day, post my Actifit report, and maybe watch a movie I had downloaded.
Moments later, one of the small shelves I'd put up came crashing down. On the way to the floor it also knocked several items off the shelf below it.
Despite all the glass on the shelves, only one item broke -- a piece of stemware that had belonged to my NeNe (grandmother). It shattered into dozens of large and small shards and tiny slivers. My slow but pleasant day crashed to a halt.
Cleanup took a while but I think I got all the broken glass. I rehung the shelf with at least four more long screws. That thing is going nowhere.
To calm myself down after the crash I decided to crank up the music. With the lights out, a candle lit, I was dancing in the dark for a good 50 minutes or longer. I feel better now.
Photo: Mood lighting. An old, rusty cheese grater over a candle. Hey, why not?
