Barely above my minimum goals today. Definitely falling behind on Aspects of Sand.
I’ve decided that this is okay in some ways. I’m not as married to the idea of getting it done in April as I first was, and I want to balance some of my project workload out more evenly. Plus, I have my MFA program to think of and it really should be my number one priority (and the near second should be finding a steady income).
Part of the problem has just been not feeling up to my normal standards. I feel like a broken record when I say this, so maybe I’m holding myself to too-high standards, but I wouldn’t doubt that a lack of sleep is causing issues.
So I’m making myself go to bed at something that approximates my bed-time.
This should help.
Also, I’ve been working on figuring out ideal schedules and I think I would benefit from forcing myself to do twenty-minute bursts on the hour (or half-hour, or whatever winds up being a convenient placement) every waking hour (barring my morning walk time) just to see how it goes. That should work out, according to my estimates, to be 6000 words of output a day, and keeps me from having a late-night writing schedule.
