I just played some nine hole disc golf this evening with my son and some friends for most of my steps. We played three rounds of nine holes. I felt like I played well, going even, one over and two over par for the rounds.
I came close to hitting a group of people that were playing cards on the side of the fairway on one of the holes. It is one of the those holes where you probably should not be throwing understable discs but I threw my favorite Tern disc on it. The wind kind of got under it and carried it along a long way off course to the right. Luckily it was not too high and just floated along at ground level.
Actually I had a hard time seeing it too and did not realize it was headed over that far.
Usually I'm pretty good at not making that bad a throw but when you don't want to do something it seems to happen easier.
It is sometimes tough to know how to handle groups of people on the disc golf course that are not moving. Usually I would go over an talk to them first before throwing but I really did not think it would be an issue and normally it is not.
Once in awhile you find people who are right by a basket sitting on a picnic blanket or something. It is sometimes difficult to even know that they are there when throwing off the tee.
I have to remind myself to be careful and observant when playing and not take any risky shots. I would really not want to hit someone with a disc.
