I rode my e-bike out to the disc golf course this morning to play a round with a couple of friends. I arrived a bit cold from the ride but jumped in right away with them because they were already there.
Usually I like to warm up a bit but things were going fine until hole five. This is a 384 foot hole with a out of bounds road on the right. I've been known to throw into the road under difficult wind conditions. I usually like to throw an understable nine speed disc and have parked the basket with it before. It felt like a pretty strong headwind so I decided to disc up to a fourteen speed overstable disc.
I've thrown this disc in the road too so I was a bit hesitant with the power and threw it on a line to the left like I like to for my understable disc. I think I had a really bad wind read because it did not turn at all and dumped hard left. It came a bit close to some other disc golfers in hole four's fairway so I let out a "FORE!" which they seemed to not hear or chose to ignore.
The drive would not have been that bad but I was a bit shaken up by it and hit a tree on the next throw... and then another tree. Groan. I ended up with a double bogey which is rare for this course for me.
One of my friends played really well after this and almost had me beat. He had a run of bad luck towards the end of the round though and turned a burned a throw way out into the field on a headwind.
I managed to win the round with a even score and the closest friend went +1.
I did a lot of yard work too.
I did manage to get my new 360 camera working but it took some doing. I'll make another post about that.
