My son and I played three rounds of disc golf today. Two in the morning and one with a friend in the evening.
I was not playing really well and lost all three rounds. It was close on a couple of them though.
I know I said I was going to just focus on the discs in the bag and not make substitutions but I substituted in a new fourteen speed understable Destiny driver. Naturally I had to try it out on the course. It really goes far but is hard for me to control. I ended up going out of bounds twice with it and flipping it over way out into the field. It got way down towards the basket on hole eleven but turned way right and almost went out into the river. I ended up with a bogey even though I got a lot farther up the fairway than usual.
It might be a good disc if you have a large area to work it but even a level release can be trouble. It might come in handy on some of the longer holes on the more difficult courses I play but I think I'm going to shelve it again for now. It is not a wind fighting disc at all and that is usually what I tend to pull out distance drivers for.)
I bet it might be a bit more stable when new but the used one that I have is really understable. It is rated at a -2 turn but it turns more than my -5 turn Mamba disc. (Actually my Mamba disc is rather unusual in that it seems to fly more stable than when I first bought it. It got lost in the river for six months and seems to have warped or something.)
A couple photos taken out on the disc golf course this morning:
