I rode my e-bike out to the local eighteen basket course and started to play a practice round this morning. It was around 45 degrees F. when I left the house, so I bundled up a bit. It got up to about 75 degrees today so part way through the round I started shedding some layers and my friend showed up to play.
We finished the round together and I scored around even. My friend was scoring pretty well too.
By the time we started the second round it was warming up a lot and the wind was starting to pick up. I finished that round with a +2. Sometimes when it really starts blowing hard I score a lot higher.
My friend lost a disc on the second round. We looked for it for some time but could not find it. He called off the search pretty early - it was not an expensive disc. That's a nice thing about throwing DX plastic but it does turn pretty easy in headwind, which is what happened. I did find an interesting mushroom while looking for his disc.
A shelf mushroom that I saw today out on the disc golf course:

As I was leaving the disc golf course a young couple were just starting to tee off. The young lady was warming up and seemed friendly, her guy was poking around in his phone. I waved and said, "Hi."
She ignored me and the guy looked up and said, "Hi."
I could tell they were not really wanting to talk too much and not big on the usual disc golf talk. It kind of looked like they were new to the game just a bit.
I overheard the guy say to his friend, "It looks to be a long ways, better get out a distance driver, try the Destroyer"
I was kind of wondering about the choice of disc. I usually don't throw a Destroyer on hole one. (I actually don't usually bag one they are a bit overstable for my noodle arm at least in the weight and plastic that I have.)
I had to watch as the young athletic looking lady ripped a drive down field. The Destroyer flew out thirty feet and spiked into the ground.
I my wild imaginative mind I pictured myself striding confidently out to her like an old time Western gun slinger and saying, "Hey there little lady, how about I show you how to throw that there disc?" LOL.
Grinning to myself I decided to leave, it would best not to cause too many issues and I hoped that they would have fun. (I doubted that either of them would have found it the least bit funny.) The course is not all that beginner friendly on a few of the holes. We have all been beginners, it can be kind of difficult sometimes.
