It was an absolutely gorgeous day today for this time of year. Hardly any wind and just a bit of frost on the ground for the first part of the disc golf round.
My son and I both did very well for the first round of the winter disc golf league. I should get a script payout for this round. I've got my eye on a mystery box from MVP to put my script on if I earn enough before someone else purchases it.
I had three or four just barely missed inch low putts and still managed to almost go under par for the round. Hopefully I can play as well or better next week.
Since I was playing fairly well I ran a putt for a birdie attempt that I normally would have laid up and ended with a bogey. That's another possible point I could have made.
My only really disappointing throw was when I was putting downhill on some icy slippery ground. Normally I would have easily made a putt from the distance but I was worried about losing my footing and going kerplunky down the slope. (Old people don't particularly like face planting, lol.)
That's six points that were just barely missed and no throws out of bounds. I very happy with the round.
Anyhow it was a great round and I'm excited to play next week. I've modified my bag some and taken out a couple of discs that were turning over a bit too much and put in some more stable versions. I also got a new to me midrange off the used rack for $5 that will fit in just between my other two mids. Since I don't have that killer distance throw putters and mid range discs have been really helpful. If conditions are comprable my bag should be dialed in a bit better.
On the way to the disc golf course:
I sailed the Mamba out of bounds and almost into the lake last time I played this hole:
This time I stabled up a bit and did a lot better.
Hole eighteen what a round:
