I drove my car down to the disc golf course and played an eighteen basket round with a couple of younger people. It was kind of windy and I didn't play too well because of it. The new Matrix midrange disc I purchased yesterday was flying very well. I like it a lot and I was using it on many of my throws today.
I was nice to be out on the course again after all the snowy, rainy and difficult weather.
I would have rode my e-bike but I'm getting a bit annoyed at people yelling at me. I guess I'll just stick to burning as much fossil fuel as I can before it all runs out, lol.
On Sunday afternoon when I was riding my e-bike down to the store, I didn't use a right turn hand signal. The road was not busy but a guy waiting to turn left from a stop sign got really annoyed at me and yelled out his car window.
Normally I do use hand signals but I was going downhill rather fast and there was a bunch of debris in the side of the rode. The wind had blown some stuff there and it was very difficult to slow down on the wet road. I needed both hands on the brakes to slow safely enough to make the right turn.
In this case if I were to signal with my right hand I would not be able to use the rear brake. The car, after seeing my signal might start moving out in front of me. If the front wheel starts to lock up and slip on all the leaves and junk in the road I might not be able to make the right turn and end of sliding under the now moving car.
Actually, technically I didn't use a hand signal and I did make him wait a few seconds longer that he needed to and I misjudged my speed and how slick the road was. Selfish of me I suppose and probably not understandable by anyone who hasn't gone down hard on a motorcycle or bicycle on slick surfaces.
Taken out on the disc golf course today:
The snow out on the distance peaks kind of looks like ski runs but it is just the harvesting of timber. I'd rather they left the trees alone and used other stuff for products. There is almost nothing anyone individually can do about it but protests do happen, especially when they try to take the old growth trees.
It has been a bit difficult dealing with things recently but I'm very happy to be able to get out there and get my exercise.
