Oh man, I played a tough eighteen hole disc golf course today. I scored a plus four on it which I felt was pretty good for the first time I played it in quite a while. I could not remember where all the holes were and threw at the wrong baskets a couple of times.
Frustration... hot.. forgot my water bottle... my hat is in the Pacific Northwest... sounds of tiny tiny violins start playing, lol. 😝
Hole sixteen and the basket in line with the tee is looking rather difficult with the ditch factoring high on a miss and a shrubby tree blocking the easy approach. It was a tough throw and after some hesitation my disc went into the side of the ditch. Technically it wasn't in the water but a very difficult lie to play. I scored at par on the basket with wet feet. Walking away I noticed it was the wrong basket.
I threw again (with a bit of frustration) at the correct basket this time. It was a much easier throw to make but it tried to bite off too much distance and ending up putting the disc in the side of the ditch AGAIN.
This time crossing the ditch was fraught with problems. To make a long story short I pitched out taking a bogey on the hole. I was standing in some black stinky mud to pitch out of the ditch.
My shoes are no longer new on the plus side but it may take a few months to fully get ride of the stench of methane and hydrogen sulfide gas, lol.
At this point, I can envision myself being bitten by a rattle snake, slumped over from sewer gas in the ditch, being cooked by the hot sun... Then a friendly local comes by saying, "Hey bro, I can easy your passing if you can point me towards the next hole and pass my up your disc golf bag."
Lol 😆. At least the hawks and prarie dogs would have a feast.
Anyhow I had a lot of fun being the only one playing the course today and know much better what to do next time.
There is a hawk in the middle of the picture if you look closely:
These prarie dogs were slightly disturbed and quickly dissappeared underground when I got close:
Hole ten was nearly surrounded by the ditch:
The ditch complete with the footsteps of hapless disc golf victims, lol:
Weird crusty stuff (salt?) that you see in hot dry places like Death Valley and Colorado, lol:
