I did some walking and a couple of nine-basket disc golf practice rounds today. I was testing out some new discs and trying to see if my max wieght overstable distance drivers are good for anything besides throwing into a headwind. I'm not sure of the answer.
It is nice to have an overstable headwind fighting distance driver in the bag, but I'm not sure I need two of them. I would like to get a disc that is a bit less stable to fill in a gap between my D4 Air and my beat in D3. There is a disc I might get if it has not been purchased yet.
The more you play disc golf, the more you find these little differences in the way the discs fly. Three grams of weight or wear on a disc can make a difference in the way it flies. Right now, I have a couple of discs for max distance, but it would be nice to find one more just for a spare. I was hopeful that the new blue D4 Air would be that disc, but it is just a bit too understable.
