Getting super hot this week, so we’re planning on checking out some cooler underground caverns around us this week. Hiked a short path to this one today & checked out the petroglyphs & tunnels.
It’s amazing to realize you’re standing in a spot with your family that’s been a family gathering shelter since at least 1000BCE. To touch the same wall that people have leaned on or brushed by over that many years. That may be fairly common all over the rest of the world, but in America so much native history has been covered up, lost, & neglected that it’s not nearly as common here.
Does anyone else out there have places you go to feel close to the ancients?
