Hey Actifitters,
What a surprise, yesterday after getting up super late again, our day started with a walk around the backyard with Kaia. Like I already mentioned, a few trees are resisting to keep their colorful leaves a little longer.
Just like the day before, Kaia seemed to be in good form.
Maybe she was looking for Le Chat because we didn't see her until much later.
Also like most days, we started our walk of the day near the forest behind the front yard.
Since Kaia was fine during our walk to the other forest, the real one, the day before, I decided we'd go there again. In daylight, I was sure it'd be much better. Even on the way, some of the fall colors are not gone yet.
Of course, no comparison to the ones we found in the forest.
This next tree has always been one of my favorites. I can guarantee I shared plenty of photos over the years, including some with both dogs posing under it. It's very colorful right now.
Since we had plenty of time, we stayed on the trail until we saw the area where the storm broke all those trees a few months ago.
With Kaia still apparently doing well, I thought we'd even go to the teepees.
Great setting for a quick photoshoot.
Just as we were leaving the area, Kaia stopped dead on her tracks. Can you see what she was staring at? And it was staring back!
It was three deer. They all stared at each other for a few seconds, until finally Kaia barked just once, and they quickly fled. Luckily Kaia was on leash, and she knows it's not worth trying in that case.
The walk back home was mostly uneventful. This was for sure our longest walk since Kaia's surgery (and even before, since we significantly reduced our walks after her injury was confirmed), almost 3 miles in just about 1 hour. She didn't seem bothered at all, so like I was saying yesterday, her recovery seemed to be going well. We'll keep monitoring her of course.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
