Hey Actifitters,
A few weeks ago, I learned that the city I live in and a few others around had performed a deer culling. I knew it was planned but I thought it was for next year. I understand the reasons but I like seeing all these deer, and I'm glad to see in my neighborhood, there are still a lot of them. This one was hanging out in the yard, with no idea that Kaia was growling at him from behind the window.
Brand new antlers growing, that's pretty cool.
Later in the afternoon, still in the yard, Le Chat was trying to teach Kaia the art of the grumpy face.
But clearly Kaia wasn't being a good student, way too many things to keep an eye on, she's always a guard dog before anything else.
Le Chat doesn't care anyways, she's the best, and her talent cannot really be taught.
Of course, we also started our daily walk behind the front yard.
After chasing all these deer earlier in the day, Kaia started limping more than she's been the past few weeks. But she seemed somewhat okay in the small forest, so we started on our way to the bigger forest.
But quickly, it was obvious she was in real pain, limping even more. So we turned around pretty quickly and went back home, where a bunch of deer were waiting for us again. The smaller one, probably younger and female, was the first one to see us. Then another one that looked like the one earlier in the backyard. Kaia was on leash, so they were safe and started to play with the smaller one chasing the other one, even poking him with its head. Or maybe they were fighting, not entirely sure. It was fun to watch, except maybe for Kaia who really wanted to join the game, even with her painful leg.
Since our walk was really short, I decided to go for a run. I made sure Kaia got some rest for her leg, but I ignored my own knee pain. I kept it short though, just 5k at a slow pace. Again, even if I walked for a few minutes in the middle, I kept the overall pace below 6min/km, so it is slow but not so bad considering my current form. And bonus, it is very counter intuitive and I didn't expect it, but my knee is less painful after the run. Let's see when I can go for another one this week.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
