Birds and bats have developed gut adaptations to digest banyan fruit. The seeds do not get spoiled in their intestines, but are passed out intact with the feces. As a result, the seeds fall and germinate in new places. As a result of this mutual relationship, the banyan tree spreads throughout the forest, provides fruit and shelter for other animals, and itself expands. I took pictures of this delicate relationship between banyan trees and birds from the banks of the Padma in Rajshahi. A flock of Hariyals has come to visit Rajshahi to eat banyan fruit.
