Game on!
Today my to-do list is filled from head to toe.
Let's see if I can make this all work.
First on my list is a visit to my parents.
Yesterday my mom had sent me a whatsapp message saying that she had found something left of mine in the attic and wanted to hand it to me.
Of course this had made me curious so as soon as breakfast was finished I walked towards my parents.
Something from long ago was waiting for me, something that took me a lot of time and sweat.
Hahaha I played the clarinet until I was 18 and then this hobby was unfortunately diluted by studies and later work.
Time has done my clarinet no good, sound still comes out of it but unfortunately it is no longer suitable to play on.
Yet I take it home with me gratefully.
It can always serve as decoration and a nice memory.
The soccer field is where I go next.
My youngest son has a home game and always likes it when I come to watch and encourage him.
This morning starts sunny so it is no punishment or standing in the sun along the line encouraging.
Although a coat and warm scarf are still needed.
The youth on the field are visibly not bothered by the cold, running after the ball they have no chance to cool down.
Before halftime the score was 2-0, after halftime the opponent scored a goal against, 2-1, but my own son strengthened the lead 10 minutes before the end.
3-1 is a nice final score that is celebrated in the locker room.
Tonight my friends are visiting so I quickly pop into the supermarket.
The system they use there is ideal.
You scan your own groceries as you go through the store using a portable scanner.
After putting all the groceries you want in your basket and scanning them, you proceed to the self-serve checkout counter to pay for the items you scanned.
I must say this saves me a lot of time.
Of course, you are expected to honestly scan all the products you put in your cart.
But the store can always do a spot check to make sure you checkout all products honestly.
After my lightning visit to the supermarket, I also quickly popped into the DIY store to get some parts for a mini DIY project.
After that there was 1 more big job on my schedule and that was cleaning the downstairs.
This ranged from scrubbing the toilet to vacuuming and mopping my living room.
This unfortunately I had not done in an hour which meant I would miss the Formula 1 race.
I couldn't let that happen so while I was cleaning, my TV was on and I was able to watch parts of the race.
The first race of a new season.
In Bahrain Max Verstappen could write another Grand Prix victory on his list. Hopefully many more will follow.
So the job is done.
My house shines again.
And the steps on my pedometer are skyrocketing.
Luckily I wear my watch that accurately records all the steps because my phone in my pocket is not really pleasant while cleaning.
I no longer have energy to cook but I don't hear my kids complaining when the take-out food is delivered.
Today I ordered a deliciously diverse menu from the nearest Chinese-Indian restaurant.
Babi Pangang, Koe Loe Yuk, Tjap Tjoy, prawn crackers, spring rolls, satay and much more. Delicious.
But the best part is yet to come.
Tonight I am going to pick and hopefully book the destination for our next summer vacation with my friends.
After my negative experience last summer vacation, I don't want to go to France this year.
My hospital stay is still fresh in my mind.
No I want to go on vacation to a country where I speak the language.
So that already leaves out a few destinations.
In the end our choice fell on Austria.
A country where I have been many times before but never in the region of Styria.
So there I will be spending some time this summer in this beautiful house.
I can't wait.
And with this beautiful end to the day I fall asleep satisfied and fulfilled.
My to-do list is completed, my pedometer is filled and my energy is depleted.
Good night.

Wishing you all the best in life and much health.
