Found this t-shirt during my hike today. It says “the aim of life ain’t survival”. I could add - “the aim of hiking ain’t the summit”.
Today I hiked with my half-Danish nieces and nephew. Living in Denmark, they know nothing about mountains. So I picked an easy route. Just 10km and 450m total elevation gain. That’s more than twice the highest point of their otherwise charming country.
I know that their definition of fun is definitely very far from mountain hiking. I noticed how they went from “do we really have to go up there” to “it was nice walk, mange tak”.
