The weekend passed so fast. Yesterday we had our friends visiting us, those friends from Valencia who were already mentioned a few times in my posts. First, we took a walk with them along the seashore. On the beach, we found some sea urchins, which unfortunately had already been out of the water for too long and dried up. There was no salvation for them.
As they are vets, and especially the guy is a marine biologist, he explained to us a bit more about these are sea urchins. In the photo, you can see that he explains to us that the mouth of sea urchins is made up of five teeth or plates. The entire chewing organ is known as Aristotle's lantern.
After this short biology class, we entered the rural part of the village... between some gardens and orchards. My friend is known for her love of plants and taking home some parts of them. So the moment of taking some cuts is immortalized here.
Passing by some watering canals that are used for gardens, we saw a river crab. The biology class continued.
Our friend caught him and pulled him out of the water, even though the crab was swimming pretty fast. Once already in his hand, he showed us the legs of the crab and the structure of the armour.
Afterwards, he released it into the water again, and it swam away.
Along the way, we also ate some mulberries and loquat we found. How delicious they were.
Today, Sunday, we took the walk around the small river. It was already so warm, even it was late afternoon already. Seems that summer is coming our way!
Thank you for your time 👋
