How are you all? I hope you are all busy preparing for this great festival of sacrifice but are also very happy. The holy Eid-ul-Azha has returned to us again after the turn of the year. As Eid approaches this night, the feeling of this time is probably a little different from all other times. Today, I would like to share some of my personal feelings and the wonderful words you shared with you.
The beautiful words you said—"Eid has come with happiness in the heart, making everyone's life beautiful"— this one sentence seems to explain the full meaning of Eid. Especially on this night of Eid-ul-Azha, when we are in the final stages of preparation, a kind of holy peace works in the mind.
Eid-ul-Azha means the glory of sacrifice. This night seems very magical to me. I remember my childhood very much, when I could not sleep properly the night before Eid. After going to the market and buying a holy cow or a khasiti, taking care of it, feeding it—all of it would create a strange illusion. And when we sacrifice the animal for the pleasure of Allah from that place of love, then the pride, jealousy and petty things in our hearts disappear. In fact, sacrificing the animality within ourselves is the main lesson of this Eid.
You said, "Make everyone's life beautiful"—this is not just a word, it is our responsibility. The joy of sacrifice is fulfilled only when we stand by the helpless people around us according to our ability. On the morning of Eid, when we go to the doors of the poor people in the neighborhood with a packet of meat in our hands, and the smile of satisfaction we see in their eyes, that smile makes our lives beautiful. If our small initiative can bring a smile of good food to someone's face for one day, then only our Eid is meaningful.
To be honest, in this mechanical life, we move far away from each other. But when Eid comes, all the distances seem to be erased. As soon as night falls, we will start going to each other's houses, exchanging greetings and preparing all kinds of delicious dishes. I think that this joy of Eid should not be limited to the four walls of our own homes. May our joy spread among everyone.
On this silent night of Eid, I pray that all of our sacrifices may be accepted. May our hearts be purified through sacrifice and that purity make our next days more beautiful and auspicious. May we forget all the old values and prejudices and reconcile with each other.
