I know it's hard for those who have been used to a censorship-resistant ecosystem like Hive to take a closer look at NFT marketplaces built on a corporate structure. The Lisbon-based (but mainly run by Austrians) company Tokapi, the archiving platform Artcare, and the art magazine and club Artcube 21 are looking for NFT artists in cooperation with the Austrian newspaper DER STANDARD to design the cover of the 10,000th issue in January. Two artworks can be submitted until December 28, a jury will select, the NFT will be auctioned and will go to a charitable cause. Probably more fiat structure can hardly be topped at this point and the question arises whether a participation could be interesting. Yes, because sometimes it can be useful being exposed to the old mainstream, which is known to consist of a different demographic, and it could also be important to address people in rural areas who do not have the luxury of living in a metropolitan area and who might come into contact with NFT art for the first time via a newspaper, of course if one is lucky enough being chosen.
