Half a year I joined the European Carbon Offset Tokenization Association (ECOTA) as a fellow to base the first pillar of Regenerative Finance #ReFi within our Crypto Devs working group and elucidate the benefits Bitcoin as the main exponent of Proof of Work technologies has for climate action. Today I'm very proud I had the chance to represent our working group and future endeavors at the United Nations. As I prepared for today, especially for those favorable decision makers, I got surprised by Susan Goeransson from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). I would have never expected that she would argue for DeFi and talk about "the power of Decentralized Finance" for local governments and municipalities. While everyone was just listening we crypto people understood. As we know the roots of ReFi lie in DeFi! Many unexpected insights I got today regarding financing unbankable green climate projects, a full success.
