A warning sign
Today I did a little walking in historical downtown Savannah, Georgia (USA). It was an impromptu stop on my last day of vacation. It was a pretty interesting trek.
These were the stairs in question, well some of them at least. They were pretty steep but not too bad. The picture doesn't really don't justice. The warning sign was warranted, in my opinion.
This was a little foot bridge. Apparently people put locks on the fence as a testament of their love. There was a warning sign for this as well, but I forgot to take a photo of it. It threatened a $50 fine if caught putting a lock on the bridge. So I guess of nothing else, putting a lock on the fence meant you're risking $50 to express your love.
This was an old war canon used in the American Revolutionary War. It was surrendered by the British at the Battle of Yorktown, which is seen as the beginning of the end of that war. It's a pretty cool piece of history.
Speaking of cool piece of history, this building used to serve as the Savannah Cotton Exchange. I thought it looked pretty cool so I snapped a picture.
This last picture is just a little funny. My daughter had to use the bathroom so we asked if she could use one in a local restaurant. Since most of these buildings were built in the 1800s, there are a lot of narrow passageways. It just so happened that the passageway to the bathroom also had this door in the vicinity. It has aphoto of the girls from the movie The Shining. It scared the heck out of my daughter 🤣.
I finished the day with about 10000 steps. I also had 64 active minutes and 4 flights of stairs. Those are pretty good numbers considering I spent most of the day driving.
Continuing with the theme: Each night I post the song that was playing as I ended the workout and use that as the title for the post for that day. Today that song was Back In The Game by Wu-tang Clan and mixed by DJ Phoniks. The photo is from the artist that DJ Phoniks sampled though. The rendition is a perfect blend using not only the music from the sample, but the lyrics, giving them new meaning while matching the context of the wutang raps. It really is a cool song. You should check it out at the link below.
Well, that it for today. I'll see if I can check in tomorrow, but it's going to be hectic.
