They say that before the revolution, Gol-Mohammadi Crossroads was the main hub for wine distribution. After alcohol got banned, they tore down the tavern — but a legend survived: people claimed the place was run by jinn.
The story goes that the person who took the money and handed over the wine was never actually seen. There was just a little window — a mysterious hand would reach out, take your cash, pass the bottle, and the face behind it stayed hidden in the dark.
And when the tavern was finally demolished, the jinn supposedly moved into the neighboring houses. The place in this photo? Yeah… that’s one of them — and I lived there for two years!
Today Dad and I went back to grab a heater from that house, and now I can’t stop wondering…
what if the jinn actually needed it?
