I have had a few of these timers over the years I have lived in this house. We are lucky enough to have a pool and lots of good weather to get a fair but of use out of it but it comes t a cost.
There's always a fair bit of maintenance required chemical adding, checks and cleaning. In an effort to save a few dollars I try to run the pool pump and salt chlorination system on off peak power. The off peak power is significantly cheaper but the power company control it , switching it on and off as they required as so they can meet peak demand.
Most of the time this means the pump would run at night, which would be annoying for our neighbours and us. So I need a second level of control to stop it after it get dark. Usually there's always enough daylight of peak power to get the job done but these timers don't last for ever, just the other day another one died and I had to install another.
Technology seems to move faster and smaller all the time. It took me a while to understand the new programming with this slim line timer but after reading the manual a couple of times things were back up and running.
