No ski lifts were open, so I sure got a good workout over the day. We still drove up the mountain early and warmed up with 10 magic carpet rides, which was about thirty metres long. We squeezed as many turns in as possible as it was the only really groomed snow on the mountain.
The Perisher ski resort had a good dump of snow two weeks ago before the ski season had started, but it was disappearing fast.
Hopefully, the forecast snow and snow making would improve things tomorrow. There were plenty of dark clouds building.
After warming up on the magic carpet, we hiked up to the top of front Valley in ski boots carrying our skis and poles. Quite a few other people had the same idea and were making the most of it, too.
Front Valley at Perisher ski resort holds the snow well being on the shady side from the sun. There is a fair bit of man made snow on this slope, too, but it looks a bit weird as there is next to no snow elsewhere.
We spent most of the morning up at the ski resort with two 600m hikes up and then skied down. In the afternoon, we did a short bush walk at saw pit creek. I did an easy after run as well before walking into Jindabyne village where we were staying for dinner.
22k activity count on my watch, but it felt like a lot more.
