Today was an excellent day for a hike here in Ozarklife, sunny, in the mid 80s, no humidity, basically perfect. Knowing we had obligations today suggested a shorter version of our usual hike, so we took a loop trail offshoot off our main hiking trail, it sure was nice being out in nature again.
As we set out we passed this wonderful field of yellow flowers.
Once we left the field behind and stepped into the forest we crossed through the boundaries of normal space/time and into the turtle 🐢 kingdom. Today we found 4 different turtles on a half sized hike. It seemed everywhere I turned there was a turtle staring me down, from the cover of the shell of course.
I particularly like the yellow spots on the first turtles shell.
The second turtle seemed as curious as I was, this one has the yellow eyes of a female.
We spotted this third turtle trying to hide, I’m thinking he saw us first.
Finally as we made the last push back to the car we found this red eyed male waiting for us to move on so he could do the same.
I’ll leave you with another flower and happy wishes for an awesome weekend.
