Today we visited the British Normandy Memorial at Gold Beach in Ver sur mer, France. Very impressive to walk around there and reading all the names on the pillars, most men were around 21 years old.
Also very strange because the beaches look so peaceful now, to know so many men lost their lives here.
Behind the building on the first picture this statue is standing there.
We're staying on a camp site in the neighbourhood so we visited Juno Beach right after the memorial on Gold Beach, where we found a armored vehicle, there are a lot of tanks in the neighbourhood and all look very well taken care of.
The entrance to the river was guarded by two cannons in a bunker, now only the holes from the turrets are visible.
In the evening my daughter wanted to return to the low tide beach again so we went there together, the rest of my family already walked too much they said 😅. We found a jellyfish and some crayfish, and a group of horsemen was riding on the beach, pretty sight!
Again a lot of activity, and they call this holiday 😁
