Introduction

Happy new year everybody! I hope you did enjoy welcoming the year 2025. As for me, I have made a plan for myself, and it is to visit my first shrine in Japan which is what they called hatsumoude. Last year, I did visit my first shrine as well and I got the lucky sign. Today, what will be my luck? Then let me tell you what happened on my visit.

Hatsumoude at Sensjouji Asakusa

I woke up in the early morning of January 1st and was motivated to walk an hour all the way to Asakusa in order to receive my luck for this year. My initial plan was to visit the Takagi Shrine, but I was not sure if it will be open. I checked their website but there was no announcement at all, so I decided to visit the Sensouji in Asakusa.

Upon arriving at the shrine, I looked around for a bit and I found several food stalls there. Some were closed and some were open, but I chose not to buy food as I already had my breakfast. At the main area of shrine, a lot of people were already there either lining up to pray for the gods or drawing their luck for this year. There were a number of foreigners as well, and well, including me of course.

After walking around the area, I decided to start drawing my luck. In order to receive my luck, I looked for the omikuji section of the area and there were a lot of sections there. I chose the nearest one from the main shrine, dropped my 100-yen coin, and pulled a number for my luck. The fortune I received made me happy and I was delighted to have visited the Sensouji in Asakusa.

Afterword

After visiting the Sensouji, I was very happy to receive my fortune for this year. I will manifest it for the entire year and hopefully this will also spread to everyone who have read this. May your entire year be prosperous and bountiful. That would be all for now and happy new year again! 😇

新年あけましておめでとうございます！2025年を楽しく迎えられましたか？私は今年、「初詣」に行く計画を立てました。昨年も初詣をして、幸運のおみくじを引くことができました。今年の運勢はどうでしょうか？それでは、私の訪問についてお話しします。

浅草寺での初詣

1月1日の早朝、1時間かけて浅草まで歩くことを決めました。今年の運勢を確かめるため、気持ちを込めて歩きました。当初の予定では高木神社を訪れるつもりでしたが、開いているかどうか不明だったため、ウェブサイトを確認しましたが特に情報がありませんでした。そのため、浅草の浅草寺を訪れることにしました。

浅草寺に到着した後、まず周辺を散策してみました。屋台がいくつかあり、閉まっているお店もあれば営業しているお店もありました。ただ、すでに朝食を済ませていたので、何も購入することなくその場を通り過ぎました。本堂付近には多くの人が集まり、神様に祈りを捧げたり、おみくじを引いて今年の運勢を占ったりしていました。観光客も多く見かけ、もちろん私もその一人です。

周辺を一通り歩いた後、ついにおみくじを引くことにしました。今年の運勢を確認するため、おみくじの場所を探しました。エリアにはいくつかのおみくじコーナーがありましたが、本堂に最も近い場所を選びました。100円を入れて番号を引き、自分の運勢を確認しました。その結果は私に喜びをもたらし、浅草寺を訪れたことに大変満足しました。

あとがき
