Course introduction
The purpose of the course is to cultivate children so that they can be sypathetic towards others and can be aware of their state of mind by meditation. To be sypathetic towards others, we thought five precepts in a simple way by asking questions. Do you like being killed, if you don't like it why would you do so to others? Do you like being lied, do you like if your belongings being stolen, etc...if you don't like it, why would you do it to others? You should avoid them, etc...
The course was broken down into short teaching or meditation sessions, each of which followed by counselling session. Groups of around 10 children were lead by two counselling teachers, who made sure the children understand what was thought before by asking questions and discussions.
Discussion time
We treated them breakfast with milk and bread, fried noodle at lunch, with a Sweet Sago Dessert in the evening.
(lunch time)
In the evening, we ended the ceremony with diffusing loving kindess to ourselves first and others.
And I helped facilitate the course by welcoming children, giving them food, preparing meal for them and by taking photo records.
Those are some of the activities for yesterday.
