It’s finals, here we are again! After a pretty measly performance in the first few rounds, I finally managed to regroup and bounce back. It was a mix of zero motivation, post trip withdrawal, and the devastating typhoons that hit our place. But I’m slowly getting back on track again.
Shoutout to these Under Armour running shoes, such a good pair for long walks. For today’s finals, my game plan was to hit 50 KM. It’s Saturday anyway, so I dedicated the whole day to reaching that goal. Good thing I didn’t have any appointments today.
I started the day strong with a 20 KM run and walk, and thankfully it didn’t rain all morning. I loaded up on carbs for energy, then rested in the afternoon to regain strength, pretending to just watch Netflix but honestly using it to get drowsy. Netflix is the new natural melatonin haha.
When I woke up, I might have overslept because I had a minor headache, but I couldn’t let that derail my target. So I pushed through with brisk walking and jogging. My feet were hurting so much that I had to put plasters on my toes. By the 40 KM mark, I was extremely tired, but I kept telling myself I could do it, mind over matter.
With the help of Lady Gaga’s concert setlist distracting me from the pain, I actually started enjoying the walk again until I finally reached 50 KM for the first time ever in my life! Finished at around 11PM already 😱. I am so proud of this milestone. Way to go, me. Time for that good massage!
It’s not something I achieve every day, but it means a lot, especially now that I’ve been struggling with motivation. Another great season with MacFit, and I’m already looking forward to the next one. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
