Arsenal did the usual and beat Brighton 4-2 to keep the top spot going into the new year.
The usual suspects of the team scored four goals to make sure they widen the gap with the second place Manchester City. City drew with Everton to share the point and hence dropped those crucial two points at top.
Erling Haaland continued to score. Harry Kane is the only one ahead of him in this scoring spree in 2022. Having said that, Haaland debuted in August for City. That shows how good his goal scoring form is. He surely looks like who will score the most number of goals this season in the premier league.
Getting back to Arsenal, Oddedgard, Martinelli, Saka and Nketiah registered a goal. It shows how good the squad is. All team members continued to contribute. The only cons would be conceding two goals but that was inevitable as Brighton controlled the possession most of the time. Given the possession Arsenal had, it is impressive to see them scoring four goals.
The fight for the top four will be interesting going forward. Manchester United, Newcastle, Spurs and Liverpool can come back any time to regain the lost spot. Now, it's time for us to wait for the next round of matches.
