The Hollywood superstar Ryan Renold made a disney series that captured his journey of buying a Welsh club that plays the national league in England. The league is the highest level of the national level league in England. The winner of the league goes on to play the tiered professional league in England. The top of that league is the premier league. So, Ryan’s team- The Wrexham FC- is a professional team looking to win the competition and go on to play the tiered league system with the ultimate prize of EPL participation.
With that background, The Wrexham team kind of made history by beating Coventry - a higher league side- in the FA cup third round competition. That means they will advance in the competition and will have an opportunity to shine against the higher league teams.
I did not watch the game live but when I was going through today’s highlights I noticed the club. I previously watched the docu-series on Diseny+ and that provided the background on the manager and a few of the players’ profiles. It is nice to see the team making the progress that they aim to achieve.
Liverpool drew with Wolves which means the teams will have a rematch.
