Hi Everyone,
I’ve not been active on Hive for a while. I’ve been busy writing the final part in my Sapien Loop series. I’m off to a good start. I’ve written first drafts of the first nine chapters of the book. This is a pretty good start. I feel I’m on a roll at the moment. I’m reasonably inspired to keep things moving. I would say I’m about one tenth of the way in. That puts me slightly ahead of schedule.
This book is going to be quite difficult. The second book left plenty of loose ends. I made a list of those, and I’m trying to work them into the main story. I had some ideas when I was writing the second book. However, things can change as the story evolves, as well as my ideas about what I believe works or flows better with the story. It is a strange feeling when the story takes on a life of its own. I really experienced that with the first book.
I have also just released the hardcover version of the Sapien Loop short stories book. It has turned out pretty well. It is only £18, which is only £5 more than the paperback. The quality is much better. I believe it is worth the little extra. My first recommendation is to get the ebook. The ebook is often on offer for free. If you like the ebook, I recommend following up with the hardcover. Unfortunately, there are no discounts on this version. This might change if the popularity of the books increases.
I’m hoping to be at the Edinburgh International Book Festival. I aim to finish the final book before the festival. At the moment, getting in is a long shot, but I’m hoping the rising popularity of the series and my own unique story will improve my odds. The book festival is not until August next year.
Upcoming Content
So far, I can only confirm this month’s Sapien Loop quiz and next month’s Christmas contest. I’ll probably squeeze in another post before the end of the year. I’m sure many of you are probably interested in what I think of the economic crises that are sweeping much of the West. Is it as bad as it appears? I would say probably, but I need to look at more data to provide a more accurate assessment. It is quite likely things are worse than what most data suggests, as data tends to lag and Western Governments are artificially boasting the macro figures.
That’s it from me for now. I’ll give an update on the book again in a week or two. I wish everyone a great week ahead.
