How about that, a Robin came and sat on my bench and sang to me. Maybe it thought it would get food, or maybe it was asserting its territorial rights, or maybe it was just friendly.
Then there were so many bees enjoying the sunny weather. One was quite shy and walked off camera in every picture. There were three different species on this plant immediately prior to taking a picture.
Over in the distance, another species was enjoying the sun, complete with picnic basket and blanket. Seated on the ground near the pond, they looked like they were from an Impressionist's painting.
The Edwardian sunken garden always reminds me of Gloomsbury, a spoof by Sue Limb about the Bloomsbury set with Vera Sackcloth-Vest, Ginnie Fox and G H Lollipops among other characters. There's also a domestic couple - a gardener and a cook - equally funny.
