Today’s photo shows a flowering Chinese quince (Chaenomeles japonica).
Bright red standing out between branches and fresh green.
Today was another day in the garden.
Cutting grass. Preparing space.
I marked out a small area for vegetables.
Framed with wood. A beginning.
Next step will be working the soil with the tiller.
Simple work. But grounding.
The bush stands right at the border to the neighbor.
For years I barely noticed it.
Hidden behind other plants.
Overgrown. Out of sight.
Only after cutting everything back it appeared again.
And suddenly it was there.
Clear. Present.
A strong red I hadn’t seen in a long time.
Sometimes things don’t grow new.
They just become visible again.
Observed while moving. Left unfinished.
